WHERE I WORK

I'm an Associate working in the Global Markets Division of the Americas at MUFG Union Bank, one of the top global financial institutions, ranking as the world's fifth largest bank by assets, and the second largest by deposits. My current role is as a specialist in Foreign Exchange Derivatives, working to build MUFG's market presence in this area by increasing customer interactions via next generation electronic platforms, identifying/removing workflow bottlenecks, and streamlining trade execution and portfolio management procedures. I also work closely with MUFG sales groups to help build business by providing advice and ideas to clients seeking to hedge foreign exchange risk and other international exposures as part of their day-to-day business and major corporate events such as mergers and acquisitions. These responsibilities require a fusion of analytical skill, geo-political expertise, and market knowledge with software development methodologies and technologies, product management frameworks, and customer empathy for both internal and external customers.

Previously, I was a Project Manager within the Advanced Services division at Cisco Systems, leading high-touch, high visibility technology projects at Fortune 100 companies, large public health systems, and major public infrastructure efforts. In each engagement, I was responsible for project scoping, resource allocation and planning, expense and schedule management, as well as stakeholder communications and expecation management at all stages of the project lifecycle.

Too often, we found that the end user in any given system often gets run over by the larger player. In many cases, this is because information is a valuable commodity, one which often doesn't filter down the value chain in meaningful quantities. Our portfolio companies seek to eliminate those information disadvantages and empower the individual to make informed choices.
